The Lowcountry Incident Management Team participates when ever possible in functional and full scale exercises to increase their response capabilities and readiness to ensure the response necessary during an actual event.
As part of the Functional WMD Exercise the IMT was asked to develop an Incident Action Plan for the Incident Commander.After arriving on-scene, a meeting was held with the IC and his Section Chiefs to review the incident and present operations. The IMT Commander became the Deputy to the IC, as did the Operations Section Chiefs. The IC and Operations Section Chief were walked through the Planning process and assisted in the development of the Incident Action Plan for the next Operational Period.
The IMT arrives on scene, while IMT Incident Commander, Operations Section Chief and Planning Section Chief are briefed on the incident by the on-scene Incident Commander the other members establish IMT operations center.
The Team receives the initial situational briefing from the teams IC.
